It is a lightweight, multifunctional airborne laser scanner that provides a wide field of view of 100 degrees and an extremely fast data acquisition speed of up to 1.8 megahertz. Therefore, it is very suitable for road mapping applications with high-density points.
The measuring beam of Riegl VUX-120 continuously scans in three different directions: alternating from a strict low point to+10 degrees forward and -10 degrees backward. This makes data collection unparalleled in completeness, especially in challenging environments with vertical surfaces and narrow canyons.
The scanner provides 1 TB of internal data storage capacity and 240 GB of CFAST removable card, and is equipped with an interface for external INS/GNSS systems to control up to two external cameras. The complex design of Riegl VUX-120 allows for smooth integration in small manned aircraft such as UAS/UAV/RPAS, gyroscopes, and helicopters. It is provided as an independent drone LiDAR sensor, but there are also several fully integrated drone onboard laser scanning system configurations with appropriate cameras and INS/GNSS systems to meet the special requirements generated by various customer applications.
